Today Mike and I are on our way North from Aladdin, Florida to Gainesville, Florida. We left the Miami Everglades Campground this morning. The weather has been really beautiful and we are loving all of the fresh (inexpensive) produce that is readily available.
We have been eating starfruit, which neither of us has ever really had. It is wonderful when it is fresh and ripe! We also have been treating ourselves to local avocadoes, which we both like to eat strait up with a spoon and some salt.
We were just talking about the desert and how crazy it will be to see. Neither of us has ever seen the desert or a snowcapped mountain! We will be staying in Florida for another week and then we will make our way over the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) Lands near Beloxi, Mississippi to camp for free. Our next stop after Mississippi will most likely be in San Antonio, Texas, then over to AZ for a month or so. We will be at the Lake Havasu Bluegrass on the Beach Festival 2009 held in Lake Havasu City, Arizona March 6-8th.
